Sunday! Sunday! Sunday!

Saturdays are busy with kids. Birthday parties, children’s museums, some sort of lesson maybe, backyard cookouts, and late movie nights are exhausting and so much fun. Sunday is the calm before the Monday storm and, for some, scary. I love a Sunday afternoon brewery trip. There are so many options to choose in Charlotte and it always helps to take that beat before the workdays/school days start. What are your options? Glad you asked.
Free Range Brewing - Live Music, Live Figure Drawing
Sundays at Free Range mean bringing your lunch or just grabbing some bar snacks for the afternoon and settling in for a relaxing, and always welcoming atmosphere. If you have an artist in the family, they have live model drawing (nude, so maybe not for kids) from 11am - 1pm, and then live music usually starts around 3pm. David Childers is a regular act and there are always cool people who cycle through or swing into town.
Brewers at 4001 Yancey - Football, Beer, Food and Dreams
With all that space, this busy full kitchen restaurant is your home for football and lunch and all the beers and drinks to please every part of a picky crew. Also, it’s so easy to order all the times because we always need more fries. Who eats them so fast? With enough room for kids to roam outside (there are TVs outside if you can’t miss a snap0, it’s the best sports bar you can go to with kids.
Gilde Brewery - Sunday Funday
This actual German Brewery and restaurant has a kids oriented Sunday Funday every Sunday. They have chalk and coloring and stein holding contests and it feels like a very wholesome way to spend lunch and a few hours before you go home and start running around gathering your Monday stuff.
Middle James Brewery - Cheap Mimosas and Sunday Ticket
Mimosa specials and NFL Sunday Ticket and the good food and open field and nearby driving range mean you could probably see every game and take entertaining breaks if you did it right. I bet there is some family who could. Is it yours? Please let us know.
Heist Barrel Arts - The Final Shakedown and the Cleveland Browns
We talk about this place a lot and that’s because it’s a great family outing. Pizza and lots of outdoor space make for a fun, active, fall day that will leave you feeling relaxed and ready for your week. They are also the Carolina Browns Backers official home, that is, a place for Cleveland Browns fans to congregate to watch their football club in peace (maybe not inner peace). Be warned or informed.
