The 4th: Loud and Soft
Post by Ben - 7/3/2024
The 4th of July is this week. Glad you heard it here first. Kids, breweries and a midweek/long celebration holiday might seem a daunting combo. If you are trying to get out of the house and have some fun, here are some breweries doing cool stuff this week and weekend.
Party in the USA - Raucous and busy, these breweries might be loud, if your kids and/or dogs are cool with that, these spots are good options.
7/4 - Divine Barrel - Independence Day Hot Dog Cookout benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank.
7/4 - Birdsong Brewing - Bluegrass Jam at 6pm - Maybe you’re in the mood for a more chill-hangout-listen-to-your-friends-talk and enjoy a sweet NC breakdown?
7/6 - Summer Bock Party - Pilot Brewing is having a bratwurst and bock party. It sounds real guten fun.
Born in the USA - Whether you have a baby recently born (in the USA or not), or just need a quieter place to chill with your family to contemplate the complexity of the holiday, these are events that seem more subdued than fireworks and big parties. I don’t like loud, busy places either (but I’m from SC so I do like real fireworks, I’m complicated).
7/4 - Free Range Brewing - The taproom is open and always pretty chill. A good place to hunker down and have a nice cold beer and a little game time with your kids.
7/4 - Heist Barrel Arts - This is a great spot for dogs or kids who want to run around. No special event is listed, but if you are there after dark with their view of the Charlotte skyline, you might see (and therefore hear) some fireworks.
7/7 - Wooden Robot South End - Billie’s Buddies Dog Adoption
Mash Hopping - Non-brewery events to check out
The Charlotte Knights are having an ol’ fashioned American Baseball contest. And fireworks, of course. THURSDAY IS SOLD OUT, but Friday is not (same thing, different day).
I don’t know why you are relying on the smallest website you visit for fireworks information, but you know, here it is.
The Whitewater Center is having music and racing and all their normal fun things July 3rd and 4th. Normal fun stuff this weekend.
