Date Night

Post by Ben - 7/25/2024

You are doing great. Your kids are eating vegetables, playing outside, and learning. You are killing it. And part of that means you need to take care of that relationship that helps you do all this great stuff. These are some breweries that are great for date night. So, call the grandparents or the teen down the street and tell your partner to get on your level because y’all are hitting the town.

You can make Burial your first or last stop, but don’t skip it.

Suffolk Punch Brewing, South End - Looking for grown up vibes with lots of options for a fun night? They are here. Beer (of course), real food,  cocktails, wine and parking (in South End!). Hop the light rail and head Uptown for a show or walk a few blocks and get some ice cream at Jeni’s.

House of Relics, Burial Beer, Plaza Midwood - Two words: Social District. Grab a beer (and a snack, cocktail, wine, even coffee) and cruise around the neighborhood, or just camp out on the roof and see the sights (I hear the condo construction is beautiful this time of year). Fall off the roof into the Common Market (do not do this), stroll to Legion and Pilot, or hoof it to Resident Culture for more beers. Grab more food at the Calle Sol window or cash in that resy at Supperland. Be entertained at Petra’s or Snug Harbor. Go home late.

Lost Worlds Brewing, Midtown Charlotte - Who says you can’t have an easy date night in the city? Lost Worlds has beer and cocktails and you can grab food all over the Metropolitain (Pizza! Steaks! Teriyaki Madness!!!!), then you choose your adventure. Best Buy if you need an appliance, Target for aimless walking and shopping, Trader Joe’s if you need to try your luck against the fiercest competitors in the city.

Salud Cerveceria, NoDa - If this was 1965, this entire list would not exist and it would just be your manager grabbing your shoulder and saying, “Take the little lady out for some dancing, hoss.” And then you’d go out, break a twenty and use the change for a college degree. Maybe you can’t do most of that, but you can still go dancing (whoever you are and whomever you take) at Noche Latina every first and third Saturday upstairs at Salud. Dance lessons, great beer and wine, and good food. It’s a date.
